During her time working as a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor, she had the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults, and couples in different settings; which includes community counseling centers and emergency shelters. Her most recent experience has been  at the primary care clinic. 

Working with children, adolescents, and adults, she has 6 years’ experience in the mental health field. She believes in the benefits of art for mental health and hopes to expand its significance in the community.

​​​Elizabeth Buckley, MS, LPC began her practice in Corpus Christi in 2005 working with Dr. Fred Capps at A New Direction.  She provided counseling services to adults, adolescents and children with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, and relational problems.


After receiving her LPC she worked independently for Elizabeth Buckley Counseling specializing in helping people cope and understand their life situations.  Also, she worked at the Center for Individual Counseling providing stress management, anger awareness, parenting classes and women empowerment groups.

In addition to her work related experience, she has conducted group sessions and presentations related to the topics of self-esteem, faith and spirituality, and women related issues. She is also trained in EMDR therapy (English & Spanish), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. 

Susan Hargett, is a licensed professional counselor, certified yoga instructor recognized by Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. Susan is originally from IL and moved to San Antonio in 2013 with her family.


Susan holds a Masters of Art degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from St. Xavier University, Chicago. She graduated from The Temple of Kriya Yoga, Chicago.

She is skilled in mixed media, photography, crafting, song writing, and has acclaimed recognition in the slam poetry scene. Sofia practices therapy at Venus Springs and at a local psychiatric hospital, teaching creativity as a means for healing, connecting, mindfulness, and communication.

Maria Marcon, M.S.

Sofia Torres, MA is a licensed professional counselor and art enthusiast who utilizes art therapy as a form of treatment. Originally from South Texas, she has lived in the Alamo city for 10 years and has traveled to Italy, Canada, and Mexico.


She has a Master of Arts in Counseling with a minor in Art History from the University of Texas at San Antonio. ​Her therapeutic specialization includes solution focused, cognitive behavioral, existentialism, and creative interventions. She believes every client's needs are unique and deserves the best care when processing concerns and accomplishing goals. 

Maria Marcon, M.S, discovered her passion for counseling and helping others while working as an Adjunct Professor for a local community college in Orlando, Florida. The interaction with the students and her work as a professor led her into pursuing a career in counseling. 


She completed her Master of Science in Psychology and earned a Certificate in Psychological Services for Spanish Speaking Populations from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2013.  This certification serves to enhance her cultural competency in working with the Latino/Spanish Speaking Population.
